I see the face of God in deep contemplation. Gabriel guides me through the gates, past the burning candles and into a boundless sanctuary where angels are serving God and saints bow down to worship him in perfect silence.
The face of God is more radiant than the light of a billion stars. The face of God is gentle as the gaze of a lover upon their beloved. The face of God is love beyond any other love my mind can comprehend. I feel overwhelmed and enfolded in Christ.
Flashes of lightning with no thunder pulsate in a cloud more ancient than the ages of ages. “What is this cloud,” I ask. And the archangel answers saying, “It is the glory and power of the Name.” Then Gabriel asks, “Will you go in?”
I felt my body become light and lifted up toward the Light. My heart yearned to go in, but my lips said to Gabriel, “No, I may not enter, for my time is not here.” And I heard voice from within the cloud say, “Wisdom.” I returned to myself saying, “I have looked upon the face of God in his holy sanctuary and lived.” God is love. Blessed is the Name of God.
