spiritual-struggles-dryThere are days like this when I am spiritually dry. I have been happy and productive. God has spoken to my heart. But there is no living water in me to share with anyone.

There is beauty in this arid state. It offers simplicity of thought and purpose. I can be honest and admit that my spiritual life has its desert days. Besides, there is peace on the bank of a dry creek bed.

What will I do to get the Spirit flowing again? I will wait. I have nothing except what is given from heaven. One who lives on the earth is of the earth and will return to the earth as dust.

My hope is in Christ who made the heavens and the earth. Rain will fall, the creek will rise and whether I sleep or whether I stay awake, I cannot explain how. Even in a dry and solitary place, the Father is at work within me.

I will wait.
