So many people live lives of goals and goods. They love accomplishments and possessions. Their identity is in a world outside themselves, tied up in things that will not last.
Will they ever stop to look at what they’re missing inside? Real life isn’t in the world outside. Jesus describes it clearly where he says, “Very truly I tell you, unless a kernel of wheat falls to the ground and dies, it remains only a single seed. But if it dies, it produces many seeds. Those who love their life will lose it, while those who hate their life in this world will keep it for eternal life” (John 12:24-25 TNIV).
When you get worn out from all your doing, take a look inside. Jesus wants to dwell within if you will die to yourself so that you can be born spiritually. After that death, Christ in you will bear lasting fruit and you will discover what it really means to walk in the spirit. This is life that is eternal.
